What areas do you service?

Unique primarily service clients located within West Lothian. We do not generally solicit work outside our regular service area, however we are able to work further afield for the right client or work.

How do you charge for window cleaning?

Pricing is typically based on a fixed fee per window as a starting point, from there we will discuss with you directly any additional pricing implications to do with quantity of windows at the property and access considerations.

What factors will affect the window cleaning price?

Some items that may cause the original quoted price to vary would include any difficult ladder work or obstructions due to landscaping, excessive paint (or debris) on the glass that requires additional time to remove.  We do try to cover any additional items during the estimating process.

What does standard window cleaning service consist of?

The Unique standard window cleaning service involves cleaning the exterior of your windows including the frames and sills. 

Do I need to do anything to prepare for my windows to be cleaned?

Typically, nothing needs to be done prior to our arrival. You may want to ensure any gates are unbolted to allow access to the whole property.

Do I need to be home for my scheduled window cleaning?

It is not necessary for you to be home whilst we clean the windows at your property. We just need complete access to the exterior of your home. At the end of the job, we will leave a small note so you know we have been .

Do you offer phone estimates?

We are able to offer phone estimates. These estimates are to be considered rough estimates until we can arrange for one of our team to come and view your vehicle or property.

How long is your estimate valid for?

Typically an estimate is valid for 30 days. However, we review our overall pricing annually to see if it requires adjustment so any estimates given may not be affected for quite some time, if at all.

Do you offer any discounts?

At Unique we believe we offer fair and competitive pricing. Many companies will pre-inflate their prices prior to offering a discount. We don’t believe in this type of business practice. We believe in being fair and honest with our client’s and that keeps them coming back to us for continued or additional service.

How far in advance do I need to book to get on your window cleaning schedule?

Normally we can get you on the schedule within a week or two. We do occasionally get last minute cancellations and therefore keep a waiting list for those that request it. We do recommend that if you need your windows cleaned by a specific date that you contact us early enough in advance to ensure that we can take care of your home.

Are you insured?

Yes, We are licensed and insured. We have a general liability policy with up to £2,000,000 in coverage. We can of course show the business license and insurance policy to clients for review, should this be required.

Do you have references?

If requested, We can supply references.

Do you work on weekends?

We normally do not work at the weekend. However, I occasionally will schedule weekend appointments if necessary and sufficient notice is provided.

What time can I expect you to start and how long will it take?

Normally, our team begin rounds at approximately  8:30 AM. When we arrive at your premises will vary depending on where you appear on our schedule for that day. For car valets, the time taken will vary depending on the size & condition of your vehicle and the type of valet chosen. For Window cleaning this will be based on the quantity of windows, landscape & access to the property. We tend to estimate window cleaning timings based on 2 to 3 minutes per aperture.

How frequently should I have my windows cleaned?

We are happy to be flexible with any of our clients offering weekly, by weekly & monthly schedules. We will discuss your specific needs with you at the property. We believe in leaving the decision entirely up to our clients to us when they will require our services. We don’t believe in over estimating work or high pressure sales techniques.

How frequently should I have my windows cleaned?

Washing your car is extremely important. It prevents contaminants like dust, dirt, pollen, tree sap, salt, tar & air-borne pollutants from adhering to your vehicles paintwork. Many auto detailing and car experts recommend washing your car once a week to successfully prevent contaminants from damaging your paint and finish

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

We understand that circumstances may arise that will require you to cancel our services. We only ask that you give us at least 1 weeks notice of your wish to cancel. At this time we would also very much appreciate if you would take the time to discuss with us your reasons for rescheduling / cancelling, we appreciate your input at any time and any feedback given will allow us to improve our services further.

What type of payments do you accept?

We are able to accept Cash, bank transfer and Visa, Mastercard,  Debit Cards utilising the GoCardless card payment system.

When do I pay for the work?

Payment is due upon completion of our services but only if you are completely satisfied with the work. If you are not present at the time of completion you have the option to transfer the fees directly via bank transfer / standing order or waiting for one of our team to come to the property to accept payment by cash or card.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes, We do guarantee our work and you will not be fully invoiced until you are completely satisfied with the work carried out.
